Service Description

Welcome families to the Spring/Summer 2024 session of the Atlanta Academy of Performing Arts’- Spotlight Musical Theater Workshops. I'm so glad you've shown interest in the best and most affordable theatrical program here in the Atlanta area. Singing, Acting & dance classes take commitment and hard work! I believe your performer will love this journey and it will inspire them to pursue their passions. Musicals utilize popular song styles to tell our stories. Whether on stage or on film, they give us some of our most beloved narratives, characters, melodies and stage moments. They charm us, move us, teach us many lessons about life and are a magical communal experience for all ages. The Spotlight Music Theater Workshops focus students ages 5-12 on process, especially the musical element of the triple threat art form. Based on their interests and suggestions from faculty, students choose scenes and songs from age appropriate musicals. Each camper is assigned solo and/or small ensemble roles, as desired. Performers spend their time in workshops rehearsing for an informal music theater showcase at the last meeting of the month. Vocal coaching covers expression, technique, tone, intonation, blend, harmony and more. The workshop also includes dance with simple choreography, light acting instruction, and costuming ideas. Tuition is due every month on the 1st before the beginning of a session. A late fee of $5 is added after the 10th.
